Delete your ESAT practice account

You can delete your ESAT practice account yourself at any time, on the website or in the ESAT practice app on Android or iOS. It is one account in both places, so deleting it in one deletes it in the other.

On the website

1. Sign in at lucasrey.com/teaching/esat/pass/.
2. Open Profile.
3. Open Delete my account and confirm it is you, in either of two ways:
   • enter your password and press Delete my account; or
   • if you signed in with Google, press Confirm with Google and delete, confirm, and choose your Google account when Google asks. The account is deleted when that Google account is the one linked to it, and the page shows “Your account has been deleted.”

In the app

1. Open the ESAT practice app and sign in.
2. Go to Profile.
3. Open Delete my account, enter your password to confirm, and confirm the deletion.

If your account has no password because you only ever signed in with Google, delete it on the website instead, with Confirm with Google and delete as above.

If you cannot sign in

If you cannot sign in at all, email lucas@lucasrey.com from the account's address, asking me to delete the account. Writing from that address is how I know the request is yours. I will delete it and reply to confirm.

What is erased at once

• the login: your email address, the password hash and any Google account id;
• your name and profile details, and your profile photo;
• the records of the devices the account was used on;
• every answer you gave, every free attempt and any attempt you had not finished;
• your newsletter subscription, if you had one.

If you had also given the same address to sit a timed paper on the site, emails to it stop and the record is marked so that nothing further is sent.

What is kept, and why

Your contact record, which is your name and email address, stays in my records. If you would like it removed too, email lucas@lucasrey.com from that address and I will remove it, unless you have paid for a pass.

If you paid for a pass, I also keep the pass itself (what you bought, the payment reference and the amount) and the attempts you finished on it, with their answers erased, so that only the dates and the counts remain. With your contact record, they are the record of a purchase and of what was delivered for it, and I keep them for as long as tax and accounting law requires me to. No answer you gave is kept in any case.

Deleting an account cannot be undone. You can create a new one later with the same address, and it starts empty.
