Admissions tutoring is a field with a lot of unverifiable claims in it. This page collects what can actually be checked about this one: the material published openly, the credentials behind it, and, as students give permission, what they say about the work.

What is published, in numbers

The easiest thing to verify about a tutor before contacting them is what they have already put in public. These figures are counted from the pages themselves, not estimated.

What is published, what is held back, and where the checks are documented

One caveat, because it belongs on a page about evidence. The mock-paper library runs to 540 questions and the four paper sections publish 100 of them, five from each of the twenty subject modules. A full module is 27 questions and is written for one school at a time, so the rest is not ours to publish. Every question published here is complete, in the papers and in the ten practice sets alike: where an original could not be reconstructed to the standard the rest of the library is held to, it is left out rather than shown with a gap or filled in with something plausible.

The quality assurance page documents the checks each solution passes and what happens when one fails them. Everything counted here is free, with no signup and no account.

Student outcomes

Outcome figures are not shown here yet. Collecting them properly means recording, for every student, what they scored before and after and where they applied, with their permission to publish it in aggregate. That record is being built. Until it is complete, this section stays empty rather than carrying a number nobody can check.

If you want to know about outcomes before committing to anything, ask on the enquiry call. The answer will be specific, and it will be caveated where the sample is small.

There are no testimonials on this page yet. Not because there is nothing to quote, but because publishing a quote requires asking the person first, and that has not been done properly. Quotes will appear here as students and parents give permission, attributed as far as each person is comfortable with.

Meanwhile, the free material is the honest substitute: read a worked solution and judge the teaching directly rather than through someone else's summary of it.

What is actually taught, and what stands behind each of them on this site. What stands behind each of them is stated where it can be checked: the ESAT library is written by hand and every question is checked in house, by fixed rules where an answer must be exact and by review where judgement is needed; the TMUA, PAT, MAT and STEP mock papers are withdrawn while they are rebuilt on the same machine, so the free diagnostics and method guides for those tests are what remains published. The ESAT library is the deeper resource, and the teaching is best judged by it.

Admissions tests

  • ESAT: four full mock papers, ten five-question practice sets, a shortcut library and a specification breakdown. Written and checked by hand. Open the hub.
  • TMUA: taught, plus two mock papers of forty questions.
  • PAT: retired by Oxford after the October 2025 sitting, and kept here as an archive. Physics and maths practice papers with worked solutions, useful for interview preparation now that Oxford physics and engineering candidates sit the ESAT.
  • MAT: taught, plus a mock Section A of ten questions.
  • STEP: taught, plus four full-length mock questions with complete solutions.
  • Oxbridge engineering interviews: taught, drawing on the same problem-solving material. No published corpus.
